Bajaj Discover 125 ST Review
Bajaj is the number one two wheeler brand in India which used to import motorcycle in Bangladesh by Uttara Motors where Uttara Motors is the main distributor of Bajaj motorcycle in Bangladesh. So, through them, Bajaj launched Discover 125 ST in Bangladesh at the end of 2012. It is regarded as the flagship product of Bajaj which could not win their market in India for few reasons. Though, it is a bit sporty looks commuter motorcycle but failing in India, Bajaj still continuing it’s production for export. The reasons behind of poor selling in India are the high price tags as a commuter bike and second is it’s rear seat is bit high which causes discomfort to the pillions especially for women. But the most amazing matter is that, the bike has achieved popularity in Bangladesh.
Nowadays, motorcycle is one of the mostly needed vehicle in the world and day by day, it’s demand is increasing. Like other countries, in Bangladesh, bike is also very popular vehicles. So,within different price range, various companies used to provide bikes here where Bajaj Discover 125 ST is a good quality commuter motorcycle. Now, let’s get some information about this bike from below.
Design & looks: This is a standard category bike which seems a bit sporty but it’s totally uncommon looks help to separate it within a glance. It’s fuel tank is almost similar with Discover 150F where 150F is just added headlight kit and 125 ST is a naked edition. The fuel tank can contains ten litres which is completely alike with 150F. Besides, it’s seating position as well as rear seat is a bit higher which is mostly wanted by the young people but for a bit old people, it seems a problem.
Engine performance: Discover 125 ST is powered by 124.6 cc engine which consists of four strokes, four valve with twin spark air cooled engine with 13 Ps @ 9000 rpm maximum power. Besides, it’s maximum torque is 1.1 kgm @ 7000 rpm. Due to 124.6 cc engine, the bike can run with 110 km per hour top speed with five speed constant mesh gearbox. Bore is bit higher than stroke where bore is 57 mm and stroke is 49 mm. With digital CDI ignition and wet multi-plate disc clutch makes the bike completely unique.
Dimensions & seating position: Consists of 1980 mm * 760 mm * 1978 mm dimension, Discover 125 ST has fulfilled most of the demands of standard category bikes. The seat height of the bike is 800 mm though rear part is bit more higher. Wheelbase of the bike is 1305 mm which can make the run smooth. Like most standard category motorcycles, it can be rode by two pillion easily though, rider with one pillion would perfect for it.
Suspension & Brakes: The most important things of Discover 125 ST is it’s braking system. Disc and drum both versions are available in market where disc braking system cost a little more money than drum brake. Disc brake only available for front wheel where for rear part, there is drum braking system is added. However, it’s suspensions are more than good as a commuter motorcycle where telescopic suspension is used for front and for rear nitrox mono-shock suspension is used which consists of advance technology. Due to latest suspension of rear part, it can provide heavy comfort to the riders and pillion.
Mileage: The bike can give a handsome mileage according to the riders opinion. It can provide almost 60 km mileage on city road which used to provide more than 65 km mileage on highway. So, calculating the options, it can give more than 62 km mileage average which is considered smart mileage.
Instrument Panel & Features: The instrument panel of Discover 125 ST is completely updated with digital meters along with different switches. Besides, the bike has powerful headlight with HS1 35/35W configuration and battery quality is also higher with 12V 5AH. There is also trun lamp facility.
Colors & Price: Currently market price of Discover 125 ST is BDT 1,75,000 according to the latest update. It has four colors available in market which are Red, Blue, Black and Grey.
