Honda CBR 150R 2021 Edition Feature Review
CBR is the most successful and popular bike series from the Japanese brand Honda. From 150 to 1000 cc, they have all segments CBR motorcycles for the bikers. CBR (Cross Beam Racer) was first introduced by Honda in 1983 by launching CBR 400RR and CBR 400F and got immediate success. After the success of these two motorcycles, step by step they launched the higher segment CBR motorcycles in the market. They had also introduced the entry-level sports bike CBR 150R first time in 2002 and the reign continues till now.
Recently, Global Honda launched an updated version of CBR 150R in Indonesia. This one is the most beautiful and updated version of CBR 150R till now. Honda completely changed the design and graphics of this motorcycle and give a touch to their higher segment CBR. Not only just design, but they have also installed some updated features. So, let’s explore this beauty and find out which new features they have added.
Design and Look: This new Honda CBR 150R gets a huge response from the motorcycle enthusiast for its stunning look and design. This 2021 edition gets some cosmetic changes like the older sibling CBR 250RR. From the headlight to the tail, it’s completely different from the previous version. The fairing looks much larger, sharp and aerodynamic. But the main attraction of this motorcycle is its headlight set-up. The parking lights are just mounted over the headlight unit and both are LED. One of the most amazing part of this bike is its front indicator light. It’s mounted with the DRLs. The side and rear panels are also sharper.
Engine Performance: Though Honda makes some changes in design and features, the engine capacity and the powertrain of this motorcycle remains the same as the previous edition. But they replace the wet multi-plate clutch from this bike and installed Slipper and Assist clutch. Previously, this feature was only available in Yamaha R15 V3, MT-15 and XSR 155. Slipper clutch helps to get proper gear shifting and clutch engagement. The powertrain of this bike comes from a Single-cylinder, Liquid-cooled, fuel injection, DOHC, 4-Stroke, 149.1 cc engine that can produce 17.1 bhp maximum power at 9000 rpm and 14.4 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm.
Dimension and Seating Position: Honda CBR 150R known as the most comfortable full-faired sports bike in Bangladesh. Though the handlebar is clip-on but it’s a little bit up-raised and also ergonomic. You don’t have to lean much to ride this bike. This new edition looks much larger and muscular than the previous edition. the overall length of this bike is 1983 mm, width 700 mm, height 1077 mm and the standard ground clearance is 160 mm. Because of the 782 mm seat height, any heightened rider can control this motorcycle easily. Kurb weight of this bike is 137 kg and with dual-channel ABS it’s 139 kg.
Suspension and Braking: Honda launched both ABS and non-ABS versions in Indonesia. But only the non-ABS version of this bike available in Bangladesh. Hopefully, the ABS version of this bike will also available. Now the braking power comes from a 276 mm disc in the front and a 220 mm disc brake in the rear wheel. Honda also installed Nissin caliper on both wheels. Tyre section of this bike remains the same as the previous edition which is 100/80-17 in the front and 130/70-17 section tubeless tyre in the rear. The golden USD fork suspensions bring a premium and eye-catchy appearance to this bike. The rear suspension is as usual Swing Arm with Monoshock.
Mileage: This is an important issue for any kind of motorcycle. Honda claims that CBR 150R has the capability of providing 42 km/l average mileage. But the mileage will increase on the highway and will decrease in city ride.
Color and Price: Now this new edition comes with three different color variations, these are Victory Black Red, Honda Racing Red and Matte Balck. Current Price of Honda CBR150R 2023 Edition is 565,000 BDT and the Repsol Edition Price is 575,000 BDT.
