KTM Duke 125 (European) Feature Review
Runner Automobiles Ltd started to import KTM Motorcycles in Bangladesh. Recently they had also became the sole distributor of this brand in Bangladesh. Now they are importing KTM Duke125 (European), Duke 125 (Indian) and KTM RC 125. Because of the CC barrier in our country they couldn’t brought the higher CC KTM Bikes, but if the CC limit increase, they will also bring the higher segments KTM Motorcycles.
When you imagine about KTM, you can see a Orange and Black combination motorcycle who giving a great competition in term of performance and beauty. KTM (Kronreif & Trunkenpolz Mattighofen) was established in 1934 but they started their business widely in 1992. Now this company is owned by Pierer Mobility AG and Indian manufacturer Bajaj Auto. To reduce the price range, Bajaj Auto now manufacturing KTM motorcycles in India. The Indian versions gets some design and cosmetic changes. Along with the sports and naked sports segment, they also famous for their off-road motorcycles. Since 2012, KTM has been the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Europe for four consecutive years and it also one of the leading off-road manufacturer in the world.
Design & looks: There are some changes in design in European version than the Indian. This European version of KTM Duke 125 inspired from the bigger Duke 390 with dual-tone color option. The Indian edition gets iconic-fiber based fuel, basic frame and orange color rims. Where the European version have Steel trellis frame with powder coated, black color rims and and the tank shrouds are more sharper and also used a regular side exhaust set-up. The main attraction of this version is its headlight unit, which is also sourcing from Duke 390. Along with the appearance, it also luminous than the Indian one.
Engine performance: Engine performance of these both version are the same. The powertrain of this motorcycle comes from a Single Cylinder, 4 Valve, Liquid Cooled, FI, DOHC, 124.7cc engine that can burn out 14.3 Bhp maximum power at 9250 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. Because of the double overhead camshaft and 4-valves, this bike has an excellent acceleration even it’s a 125cc bike. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch for better transmission. The top speed of this street fighter is around 125 km/h.
Dimensions & seating position: We can also see some differences in these two versions dimension. The European version has a 185 mm of ground clearance and 830 mm of seat height because of the height of European people. Indian edition of this motorcycle got 175 mm of ground clearance and 818 mm of saddle height. Apart from these, other dimensions are remain the same. The overall length of this bike is 1993 mm, width 789 mm, height 1083 mm and the wheelbase size is 1336 mm. The European edition contains of 13.5 liters of fuel where Indian version can 10.5 liters. The handlebar is a little bit up-raised for comfortable long ride and city maneuver.
Suspension & Brakes: We can also see a change in the frame of these two version. Indian version has a regular trellis frame where the European version has a Steel trellis frame with powder coating. It made this bike lightweight and also robust. KTM installed Triple rate spring, Inverted telescopic fork (USD) suspension in the front and Double rate, Mono shock- 10 steps adjustable suspension in the rear wheel. The braking power of this motorcycle comes from a 300 mm disc in front and 230 mm disc brake in the rear wheel. They also added a single-channel ABS braking system to enhance the braking performance.
Mileage: Because of the fuel injection supply, the mileage of this motorcycle is also standard. KTM claims that, this little beauty can provide up to 40 + km/l average mileage in any circumstances. The mileage will increase up to 45 km/l in the highway and will decrease to 35 km/l in the city ride.
Instrument Panel & Features: KTM Duke 125 European version also mounted with a flat TFT digital instrument console with automatic brightness control, where the Indian version gets a regular Digital panel. The instrument panel can also connect with smartphone via Bluetooth. Along with the Speedometer, Tachometer, two trip meter, fuel gauge, gear indicator, you will have all the essential features.
Colors & Price: There are two colors of this little beauty available in Bangladesh, those are Black and Orange. Runner Automobiles ltd calls the price of this version is around 605,000 BDT only.

The best naked bike in Bangladesh is the KTM Duke 125cc. But the price of the bike is very high for 125 cc. 150 cc is available at this price. If the price of the bike is reduced, it will sell more
