Suzuki GSX-150 Bandit Feature Review

Suzuki is considered one of the two leading motorcycle manufacturers in Japan as well as one of the best manufacturers in the world. Their products are currently available in most countries and they are popular everywhere no doubt. The most important reason for their huge popularity is the reasonable price. Though the company is the origin of Japan but they have kept their price lower. In Bangladesh, the people stills regard Suzuki as the top brand and they would love to buy their products.

Suzuki GSX150 Bandit was first launched at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. But this motorcycle didn’t launch in the Indian market. Suzuki Bandit is the street fighter motorcycle series which was first introduced in 1989. That time Suzuki launched only 250 and 400cc segments. Many people think this is the reverse version of Suzuki GSX-S150. But finally, Rankon motorbikes ltd launched this naked commuter bikes in the Bangladeshi market.

Design & looks: The design of this bike is slightly similar to GSX-S150. But the actual thing is the design mostly like its elder Bandit sibling. It’s sculpted fuel tank with a belly pan, front extension kit, and trapezoidal LED headlamp give it a muscular and aggressive appearance. For the commuter streetfighter look, Suzuki givers it a single stair seat rather than a split seat. The headlight unit also gets a pilot lamp. Though the headlamp is LED but the tail lamp and side indicator lights are halogens. The front turn indicators mounted at the top of the headlight which is quite unusual. It also gets a sporty engine guard cowl.

Engine performance: Though there are some differences in design between GSX-S150 and GSX150 Bandit, but it’s equipped with the same engine capacity and displacement as GSX-s150. This motorcycle equipped with single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC, water-cooled, 147.3cc engine. This engine can churn out 19 bhp maximum power at 10,500 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 9,000 rpm. The DOHC feature is one of the core feature of the Bandit series. The Bandit series is dedicated to comfortable street commuting with availing significant power under the throttle bar. It also gets a 6-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch for better and smooth transmission. This naked street bike can reach up to 135 km/h top speed.

Dimensions & seating position: Suzuki used a single stair seat rather than a split seat because of the comfortable riding position. The Bandit 150 carries the same DNA as the elder one. It’s flat one-piece handlebar and center-set footpegs are super comfortable for the city and long ride. GSX150 Bandit is a little bit smaller in dimension than GSX-S150. The overall height of this bike is 1035 mm, width 745 mm and length 2000 mm. Its seat height is 5 mm higher than GSX-S150. But it’s 150 mm ground clearance may be a problem in rough road conditions. 

Suspension & Brakes: It gets Telescopic in the front and swingarm moto-shock suspension in the rear. Which will provide great performance in the city ride. Cradle type chassis will provide better balance with the 135 kg kerb weight. Both wheels are equipped with disc brakes. The front disc brake gets dual-piston caliper but the rear one gets single-piston caliper. Suzuki didn’t offer any CBS or ABS braking system on it and not even in the future. 

Mileage: For sports and the better quality motorcycle you can’t expect better mileage. This motorcycle comes with a fuel injection system. For that, it can provide 30-35km/l city mileage and 40 km/l average mileage.

Instrument Panel & Features: The instrument panel is just like the Suzuki Gixxer and Intruder 155. It’s wide and brighter dashboard will visible even in the daylight. The informative dashboard is equipped with a digital Odometer, Trip meter, Tachometer, Fuel gauge, and many more essential features.
