Suzuki Slingshot plus Review
Suzuki is one of the leading motorcycle manufacturer in the world which is originated in Japan. Japan is regarded as the best quality motorcycle producing country in the world which has dominated right now. So, Suzuki is one of the top three Japanese brand which has exported their products in many countries along with Indian subcontinent Bangladesh. Though, the brand is Japan origin the most of the bikes of Suzuki are assembled in Bangladesh.
Suzuki has the products for all types of people in the country. There are sports bike, standard commuter and scooter categories are highly demanded. Suzuki released 125 cc standard commuter for all aged people recently which is also affordable. Though, it is yet to get heavy popularity in the market but hopefully real soon, it’s demand will rich.
Suzuki has couple of 150 cc bikes in Bangladesh which are still available but now just one 125 cc bike is available. Though, there are plenty of same segment bikes from different reputed companies are still in the market and so, as a new opponent, 125 cc Suzuki bike Suzuki Slingshot Plus is not able to dominate market so quickly. But, one thing should remember that Suzuki is a leading japanese company and so, it’s demand remain same or will be higher. Design & looks: The design of Suzuki Slingshot Plus is compatible with different aged roiders. The fuel tank is very well shaped and seating position is standard. The bike seems full standard and perfect for all types users. It’s headlamp design is also good. There is also suitable rear light. The pillion seating position is a bit higher but not splitted. There is also engine guard located. This is a naked edition standard commuter which has alloy wheels. The new different shades makes the looks completely unique.
Engine performance: Due to be a top Japanese brand, Suzuki does not make any mistake about the engine quality of their products. Slingshot Plus consists of 124 cc engine with air cooled, four stroke and single cylinder technology. Besides, SOHC type engine has used where the fuel system is carburetor VM18. However, max power of the bike is 8.5 Nm @ 7500 rpm and max torque is 10 Nm @ 3500 rpm. Consists of five speed gearbox, Suzuki Slingshot Plus can make almost 105 km/hour highest speed.
Dimensions & seating position: Suzuki Slingshot Plus has good dimension which gives a proper standard category. The bike is 2035 mm long, 770 mm wide and 1075 mm high but seat height of the bike is completely standard. 160 mm ground clearance makes the bike unstoppable on rural road. The wheelbase is a bit less which is 1265 mm. Total weight of the bike is 129 kg which is completely suitable for 125 cc bike. As a standard category bike, it can take two pillion at the same time with very comfortable seating position.
Suspension & Brakes: Telescopic and coil spring oil damped front suspension is used for Suzuki Slingshot Plus which is suitable and compatible for standard bike. Swingarm and coil spring oil damped rear suspension is used. Rear suspension is also good and would provide enough comfort to the riders and pillion. Due to the better quality suspensions on both wheels, on rural roads, riders can ride the bike comfortably. Completely new braking system is used for this newest addition of Suzuki family. Mechanical leading trailing drum brakes are used for the both wheels of the bike which are upgrade version. The braking system is good and can control the bike.
Mileage: Basically, people of the country would like to use 125 cc bikes for couple of reasons where good mileage is one. If the mileage of 125 cc bike is low, then it’s demand would reduce. So, as one of the top company, Suzuki has ensured the handsome mileage to their products. Slingshot Plus would provide more than 60 km mileage average and the number would be higher on the highway for sure. So, from this side, the bike is perfect for all.
Instrument Panel & Features: Instrument console of the Slingshot Plus is analog though most of the 125 cc bikes in market have digital instrument panel. The bike has analog speedometer along with analog rpm meter. Besides, there are analog trip meter, fuel gauge and low fuel indicator are also added to the bike. There is also a better pillion grabrail located in the bike.
Colors & Price: Black, Red & Black, Blue & White, Blue, Green & Black and Yellow are the total six colors of Suzuki Slingshot Plus which are available in the country. However, the current price of the machine is BDT 1,49,950. The price is comparatively similar with rest same segment bikes but to get to the top of the market, Suzuki needs to reduce the rate.
