Yamaha XSR 155 Feature Review
Yamaha is widely known for its premium and sports motorcycles. Recently the launched XSR 155 Retro-style motorcycle in Thailand. Retro motorcycles are one kind of cafe racer. But this motorcycle is yet to launch in Bangladesh. Some grey importers are starting to launch this bike in Bangladesh. But the amount isn’t high. Hope ACI Motors ltd the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Bangladesh will launch this motorcycle in a very short time.
Though this motorcycle is equipped with many features like Yamaha R15 V3. Yamaha is already selling the third generation YZF-R15 and the MT-15 motorcycles in Bangladesh. Both of the motorcycles are based on the Deltabox frame. The new XSR 155 is also built on the same chassis, which is good enough for Yamaha to bring this motorcycle in Bangladesh. These categories of bikes are not so available in Bangladesh. So there is no one to give a competition to this bike. So, let’s find out what are the features of this bike carrying.
Design & looks: Yamaha XSR 155 carrying similar design like Yamaha XSR 900 and Yamaha Mt 125. The headlamp, fuel tank, the handlebar is taken from the older sibling XSR 900. But the side framework is borrowed from MT 125. These side panels definitely increased its design. But the round shape LED headlamp, tail lamp, the dashboard will remind you of a cafe racer bike. The main design concept looks like the classic cafe racer with a modern touch. It also gets chromium touched in some body parts like the headlamp, side panel, footrest, and front fender. The muscular looked exhaust is made by carbon fiber which gives this bike a sporty feel.
Engine performance: Engine is one of the important part of a premium motorcycle. Yamaha used the same engine as the third generation motorcycle Yamaha R15 V3. This motorcycle consists of Liquid-cooled, Single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, SOHC, 155.1 cc engine. This engine can burn out 19.3 bhp maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm maximum torque at 8500 rpm. Not only that this motorcycle also equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and Assist and slipper clutch. But this motorcycle can’t provide the same acceleration and top speed like R15 V3. But as a Retro motorcycle, it would provide 130+ km/h top speed.
Dimensions & seating position: Retro cafe racer bikes dimension is not similar to a standard or sports bikes. Retro bikes are not short in length but not so wider like sports bikes. This bike’s riding position is also ergonomic. A well-cushioned seat and wide handlebar will provide you a comfortable riding position. The overall length of this bike is 2000 mm, width 805 mm, height 1080 mm and the kerb weight is 134 kg. That is comparatively lightweight to ride. Besides that its ground clearance is 170 mm, seat height 810 mm and wheelbase size 1330 mm. It can contain 10 liters of fuel.
Suspension & Brakes: Yamaha puts two types of front suspension on this bike. The Indo version equipped with golden USD and The Indian version gets regular telescopic fork suspension. But the rear suspension will remain the same as mono-shock. It also gets the same Delta Box chassis like Yamaha R15 V3 and MT 15. So it will be comfortable on a long ride. Yamaha used a 282 mm disc in the front and 220 mm disc brake in the rear wheel. This bike also gets a standard dual-channel ABS braking system. The front-wheel gets 110/70-17 and the rear gets 140/70-17 section tubeless radial tyres.
Mileage: Because of the Fuel Injection system it will definitely provide better mileage than other 150cc sports segments bike. Though it gets the same engine displacement like R15 V3, so it will also provide 42+ km/l average mileage. But when the VVA technology will activate, the mileage will be reduced.
Instrument Panel & Features: Its dashboard remains classic and fully digital. Also, the dashboard is brighter and informative. Though it looks small but you will get all the essential features like Odometer, Trip meter, Tachometer, fuel gauge, clock, etc. Its round shape retains the classic look.
Colors & Price: Four colors would be available in Bangladesh which are Premium Grey, White-Red, Green, Black. The price of the bike is 520,000 BDT.
