There is no one, who doesn’t know about Yamaha brand. They are famous and one of the largest motorcycle brand in the world. They are mainly famous for their sports and commuter motorcycles. But they also produces off road bikes in a limited number. Yamaha XTZ 150 is the only off road bike from Yamaha in Bangladesh.

Off road bikes are not yet popular in our country. The quantity of off road bike is much low than other category. But motorcycle brands are now launching off road bikes. Because bike riding and travelling getting famous in young generation. And off road bikes is ideal for long riding and hill riding. Recently Yamaha launched Yamaha XTZ 150 in Dhaka bike show 2019.

Design & looks: Generally, off road motorcycles didn’t focus on its look. They mainly focused in ergonomics and light weight. This two wheeler gets an old school off road appeal. The front and side body work is get inspired from the off road motorcycles from 90’s. High mounted fuel tank and tank shrouds makes the side body work stunning. The body graphics looks sporty and the seat is flat and enough to seat two people easily. Yamaha XTZ gets a triangular headlamp with round shape bottom end. Which is surrounded with front bikini fairing. As expected, This bike designed with a high mounted front fender. The side indicator is finished with amber color and look like it comes from last decade. The exhaust is fitted with body and exhaust muffler look sporty.

Engine performance: This off road two wheeler sources its power from 4-stroke, SOHC 2 valves, single cylinder, air-cooled, 149.3 cc displacement engine which can easily generate 12.03 Bhp maximum power in 7500 rpm and 12.75 Nm torque in peek 6000 rpm. For the bike weight like 124 kg, The engine feels energetic. For off road bike, quick acceleration is very important. The engine gets coupled with 5-speed gearbox for better transmission.

Dimensions & seating position: off road bikes are mainly taller and thinner than regular sports and commuter bikes. The overall length is 2049 mm, width is 829 mm and height is 1159 mm. Besides, it has 285 mm ground clearance which is very familiar to a dirt bike. The fuel tank is smaller but sporty and can carry 11 liters of fuel. Seating position is important and this motorcycles gets a large stair seat which will provides comfort. It also gets off road tyre wrapped with both wheels which is 90/90-19 and 110/90-17 section. Extra wide wheel diameter will provide better controlling and grip.

Suspension & Brakes: Telescopic fork suspension used in front which is more than 9 inch long and 160 mm Mono-cross rear scale with link suspension in rear. Both are reliable and can take heavy pressure on off road. This suspension is fitted on a stiffer side to provide wonderful handling and agility. In off road, it won’t disappoint you. Semi-double cradle type chassis is used in this two wheeler. The braking power is mated with Hydraulic Discs (Wavy Disc, 245 mm) in front and Hydraulic Discs (Wavy Disc, 203 mm) in rear.

Mileage: The expected mileage of Yamaha XTZ 150 is close to 40 km/L. But it will give 30 km/L in city and almost 45 km/L in highway. However it is more than enough for a off road motorcycle. The electric fuel injection system will make sure the better use of fuel.

Instrument Panel & Features: Yamaha XTZ 150 is launched with fully analog instrumental panel. But it consist with odometer, trip meter and speedometer. It also shows indicator switch and high beam signal. But it doesn’t have any fuel gauge.
