Taro GP 1 feature and performance Review

Because of the cc limitation and high tax rate over motorbike in our country, we can grasp a few amount of sporty bike. Where as young generations in our country have curiosity for specially in full faired sports bike.

Into the last earlier, a new sports bike launched in Bangladesh which look was outstanding. This 150cc full faired sports bike had create a lots of curiosity among the bikers which name is Taro GP1. Basically this bike imported by Taro Bangla in Bangladesh and it’s a Taro branded motorcycle. It’s a Italian origin brand and their motorcycle design and research and development done by their European team. Zhejiang Chuangtai Motorcycle co LTD is their main production center in China. Taro GP 1 has various name in different countries. Just like in Pakistan this bike is known as Sigma Valentino.

How the bike actually is? Just look good or performance is good as well? Will it be the right decision to buy considering its braking, suspension, mileage, features, resale value? Let’s see the details.

This sports bike powered by Lifans’ 149.9 cc water cooled engine which can generates 16 Bph maximum power and 14.5 Nm torque. Engine is the heart of a motorbike. Lifan already earn the reputation for producing motorcycle engine and now their bikes getting popular in Bangladesh. Then the question might come, why would I buy this bike in 299,000 Tk?

Engine is an essential part of a bike but other parts are have more importance. With a good quality engine, it’s also need better braking system, suspension, looks, built in quality and other important features.

Trellis frame chassis is used in Taro GP1 which we can see in KTM and Ducati bikes. It looks stylish as it also reduces bike weight. 300 mm double disc in front and 240 mm single disc in rear are used.

LED projection headlight used in this sports motorcycle. Front end and headlight combination gives the bike extra aggressive look. High beam can produce enough light but low beams feedback is slightly low.

We think fairing, fuel tank cover and plastic products are quite strong. 110/70-17 in front and 150/70-17 size tyres are used. Those wide tyres are CST branded and tubeless.

This Taro GP1 sports bike has telescopic suspension in front. You will get upside down suspension in special edition. Rear suspension has a single tube gas field absorber which in usually use in car. This bike has side stand sensor. That’s why if you will not pick up the stand the bike won’t start.

Though it has many interesting features but we found some lacking in its dashboard. It has digital speedometer included fuel and gear indicator. But the tachometer is analog. We feel lack of trip meter and clock. But Taro Bangla announced that they will add full digital meter in this bike soon. The fuel tank contains 13.5 litter of fuel.

Sound of this bike is loud and sporty just like a custom exhaust. Kerb weight of this bike is 165 kg. Its handlebar is slightly in high position. That’s why though it is sports bike but seating position is comfortable. Seat and fuel tanks last part should be round shape for more better comfort for the rider.

We are satisfied with its braking system for using dual disc brake and CBS. Front suspension works excellently but in poor road surface, rear suspensions feedback is little bit low. But it should to inform that it’s rear suspension is adjustable so you have option to make it flexible for you.

Taro GP 1 acceleration is just outstanding and it can hit 0-100 km/h in just 12 second. Gear shifting is so fast and soft. We get 35 km/L mileage in Dhaka city. We hope it will give more mileage in highway.
