Bajaj Platina 100 Overall Review
Bajaj is the number 1 most popular motorcycle brand in Bangladesh though it is an Indian motorcycle manufacturing company. In India, it is the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer and they used to launch their product in Bangladesh through Uttara Motors since the beginning. In 2004, they first released Platina series in Bangladesh with 125 cc engine but later when Discover 125 cc was invented by the same company, Platina 125 was removed from the market and made a revised edition of it which was Platina 100 CC. But, then Bangladeshi market was dominated by Bajaj Boxer which was also 100 cc bike. So, to control the market again, Bajaj stopped the production of Boxer but released Platina 100 instead of it. The new version of Platina 100 is far more better in every sides than Boxer and the price is still within the range of general people. Besides, it’s mileage is also amazing. So, for long they dominated the market and still now, their demand is so high.
Platina 100 is regarded as one of the greatest creation of Bajaj company which can be compared with any same segment bikes and considerably better than them. Platina 100 can provide better mileage, comfort, better comfort and suitable for different aged riders. However, if your budget is small and need a powerful with attractive features, then perhaps, Platina 100 is for you. Before going for the bike, letâs see the details of the bike carefully.
Design & looks: The design of Platin 100 seems a bit old but almost standard in looking. At the first sight, it would not be liked by the young generation which has pretty bigger fuel tank along with almost plain back seat. The body design is not almost dashing but seems comfortable. Though, young generation would not like it by the design but a bit older people would love it for sure. It’s color combination is almost standard level.
Engine performance: Consists of four stroke, single cylinder, natural air cooled type 99.27 cc engine, Platina can generate 8.2 Bhp @ 7500 rpm maximum power where his maximum torque is 8.05 Nm @ 4500 rpm. The bore of the bike is greater than stroke which has CDI ignition system. A total four-speed gearbox seems almost perfect for the bike to maintain top speed.
Dimensions & seating position: Consists of 1990 mm length, 770 mm width and 1090 mm height the bike has filled up all the requirements of standard motorcycles. Seat height is bit higher than sports bike which is 805 mm along with 1275 mm wheelbase. The fuel tank consists of 11 litre along with 2 litres more space for reserve system. Seating position is almost good and causes no back pain to the riders. Besides, pillions used to have more space and comfortable seating position.
Suspension & Brakes: Hydraulic telescopic type suspensions are used for the both part of the motorcycle which seems are almost ordinary but very effective for 100 cc motorcycles. It can make heavy balance of the bike even on rural roads also. Besides, the braking system of the bike is old. Drum brakes has used for the both wheels of the bikes. However, due to be a 100 cc bike which could not cross 90 km per hour top speed, drum brake would be very suitable to keep balance. Besides, many peoples who does not have the proper knowledge of the bike used to buy this due to reasonable price and they could not use disc brake properly and causes accidents. So, to avoid it, company does not use disc brake in the front wheel.
Mileage: The mileage of Platina 100 is very good. It can provide more than 80 km mileage on highway if the riders would follow proper rules and maintain limited speed. But on the city roads, it can give at least 70 km mileage. So, according to the calculation, the average mileage of the bike should be not less than 75 km which is so fantastic.
Instrument Panel & Features: The bike consists of fully analog instrument console which has analog speedometer and analog fuel gauge. Besides, there are some more switches added on the panel.
Colors & Price: Current price of the bike in Bangladesh is BDT 136,500/- which are available in three colors named Electron Blue, Candy Red and Ebony Black.
