Bajaj Pulsar 220F Feature Review
Bajaj Auto is one of largest and leading motorcycle manufacturing company not only in India but also popular in many countries. Bajaj was step forward by launching their Pulsar series back in 2001. That time Pulsar series bikes were able to create craze among young and middle aged rider. Pulsar is the highest selling bike series in India as well as Asia pacific countries.
Pulsar 220F was first launched in the market in 2007. This motorcycle was came with many new and advanced features added for the first time in its class. That bike created appeal and craze. Back then this was the highest segment motorcycle from Bajaj. Pulsar 220F is the most affordable and cost effective sporty motorcycle in India. In 2017, this two wheeler came with some new updates and new body design. The new updates gets BS-IV emission norm.
Design & looks: In earlier, Pulsar 220F was launched with 2001 Pulsars basic design but with semi-faired front body kit and this is is also the first in its class. There was no significant changes in body design and graphics. The new update version got laser edged paint scheme which is teamed with matching rim stripe. Fuel tanks and side body panel got same fairing decals. The headlamp looks amazing and gets some fairing surrounded around it. It also featured with stunning pilot headlamp. There was no changes in tail tamp. Pulsars signature split tail lamp stayed in it. The exhaust is well designed and covered with carbon fiber muffler. Split seat and clip-on handlebar makes it more sportier.
Engine performance: There is no changes in powertrain. The first edition and 2017 last edition got the same engine power. This two wheeler launched with Single Cylinder, 4-Stroke, 2-Valve, Twin Spark DTS-i Engine which can churns out 20.65 bhp maximum power at 850 rpm along with 19 Nm torque at 7000 rpm. 5-speed gear box performing for better transmission and the well made clutch unit provides smooth and easy gear shifting. The first thing to notice about its engine is its exhaust note. Its louder and as well as throaty too. The new version is comes with carburetor system rather than fuel injection for reduce its maintenance cost.
Dimensions & seating position: The seat is split for look like a sporty motorcycle. But its comfortable, well padded and can provide excellent performance in long rude. The handlebar is clip-on and rise-up for better control position. There is also no changes in dimension. This bike gets the same height of 1165 mm, width 750 mm, length 2035 mm and the standard seat height is 795 mm. It also has a 165 mm ground clearance. 90/90 – 17 and 120/80 – 17 section tyres are used in this Pulsar 220F and both tyres are tubeless.
Suspension & Brakes: Braking is the most important part of a sports motorcycle. Pulsar 220F comes with 260 mm normal disc brake in front and 230 mm disc brake in rear. Telescopic, with anti-friction bush suspension is guarded the front wheel and 5 Way Adjustable, Nitrox Shock Absorber for the rear wheel. However, Pulsar is famous for its comfortable suspensions. Double Cradle Down Tube frame type chassis is used into this two wheeler. this Pulsar 220F is completely rider friendly motorcycle.
Mileage: Bajaj Pulsar 220f can deliver better mileage as a 220 cc. This motorcycle has a handsome average mileage close to 38 km/l. But it can deliver almost 45 km/l in highway and 30 km/l in off road.
Instrument Panel & Features: The instrumental cluster is semi-digital. Its modified with Faux Carbon fiber. Tachometer, Fuel gauge and the indicator lights signal is analogue. But the other features like Odometer, Speedometer and clock are digital. The 2017 edition featured with AHO (auto headlight on) technology.
Colors: Baja Pulsar RS 200 comes with four available colors into the market. Which are Chrome Black, Nuclear Blue, Dyno Red and Laser Black.
