Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Feature Review
Bajaj introduced Pulsar NS 200 back in 2012 in the Indian market. After realized, this two-wheeler got huge popularity among all aged rider. Pulsar is the most famous motorcycle series from the giant Indian motorcycle manufacturing company Bajaj. After launching the first Pulsar motorcycle in 2001, this Pulsar series getting more and more popular. This series has 135, 150, 180, 200 and 220 segments motorcycle. Day by day Bajaj increasing new features and advanced tech to upgrade this series bikes.
Pulsar started relaunching this bike in 2017 because of the demand of customers. Bajaj stopped the stock back in 2015 after realizing it in 2012. The tag NS stands for Naked Sports. This new 2017 edition gets the same engine with BS-IV compliant emission properties. It also gets some changes in body paint and color scheme. This is one of the most reliable and cost-effective sports motorcycles from Bajaj.
Design & looks: The Pulsar NS 200 design gets the inspiration from previous Pulsar 135. But this motorcycle comes with dual-tone shade and muscular body frame. The fuel tank, 10-spoke alloy wheels and side scoops get the sleeker look. The front end of the bike is sharper, agile and aggressive. The matte color finished and fuel tank shrouds look amazing. The headlamp is upgraded with a naked bikini fairing and stunning light unit. Split upper seat and sporty clip handlebar makes it more appealing. Fuel tank, side body frame and body panels get some new body decals. The exhaust is sporty and covered with carbon fiber muffler.
Engine performance: There will be no question about Pulsar’s engine quality. Bajaj is always sincere about its powertrain. Its do sounds like a sporty beast because of its well-made exhaust. The engine is powered by 4 – stroke, SOHC 4-Valve, Liquid Cooled, Triple Spark, BSIV Compliant DTS-i, 199.5 cc displacement engine which can easily burn out 23.17 bhp maximum power at 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm maximum torque at 8000 rpm. The engine can also produce a decent amount of acceleration rate and can reach the top speed of 134 km/h. Pulsar NS 200 has a 6-speed gearbox coupled with the engine for better transmission.
Dimensions & seating position: Double split seat and sporty clip handlebar made it sportier. The seats are comfier, roomier and well padded for long riding. The seating position and handlebar are ergonomic. This also gets a standard dimension as a naked sports bike. The overall height of this two-wheeler including mirrors is 1075 mm, width 804 mm and the length is 2017 mm. As a sporty bike, it also has a good ground clearance of 165 mm and a standard seat height of 805 mm. 10 spoke alloy wheels are used for increased its looks and wheelbase size is 1363 mm. 100/80-17 and 130/70-17 section tubeless tyres are used into this two-wheeler.
Suspension & Brakes: 37mm Telescopic Front Fork with Anti-friction Bush suspension is added in front end and Nitrox Mono Shock Absorber with piggyback gas canister suspension is used in the rear. These suspensions are reliable and will provide comfort in off road. Pressed steel perimeter beam section frame type chassis is installed into this two-wheeler. This chassis provides stability and balance during ride. braking is an important part of a sports bike. 280 mm Petal Disc with floating caliper brake guarded the front wheel and 230 mm Petal Disc with floating caliper brake is for the rear one. This large disc brakes helped to reduce braking distance and effective in emergency braking.
Mileage: Though its a carburetor engine motorcycle but it can deliver a better mileage as a 200 cc segment. This two-wheeler has a handsome average mileage close to 35 km/L. It can also give 40 km/l in highway and 30 km/l in off road. But in high throttle, it can be reduced up to 18 km/l.
Instrument Panel & Features: The instrumental panel remains a typical Pulsar design. The instrumental cluster is semi-digital. Tachometer, Fuel gauge and the indicator lights signal is analog. But the other features like Odometer, Speedometer, and clock are digital.
Colors: Baja Pulsar RS 200 comes with three available colors in the market. Those are Graphite Black, Mirage White, and wild red.
