BRTA has introduced a digital process for bike registration or smart card. It’s a more advanced way than the traditional paper-based system. This process has made things easier for the bikers. However, bikers still often want to know how they can check the status of their motorcycle smart card. How do I check the status of my bike smart card? How do I check my BRTA bike registration? Also, How do I get a BRTA smart card? Here Deshi Biker reveals the process.
How to Check Bike Smart Card Status?
One can check the status of his motorcycle smart card right from his place. He only needs to send an SMS to get confirmation whether his smart card is ready or not. The procedure is as follows:
- Go to the message option on your mobile
- Type NP <Space> DRC
- Send it to 26969.
Ex: NP DRC to 26969.
One thing you must keep in mind is that you have to send the SMS right from the number you’ve used for the registration and provided to BRTA. You will be replied with a message almost immediately.
If the bike’s smart card isn’t ready, then the reply will tell you that “Your smart card for the vehicle number *** isn’t ready. When it is ready we will send you a further SMS.”
On the other hand, if the smart card is ready the reply will say “Your smart card for the vehicle number *** is ready. Send an SMS for the appointment. To send an SMS, type NP <Space> C <Space> Date and send it to 69.” For example: NP C 15. All these messages will be in Bengali language only in an English font. So, no issues, if someone has reading difficulty in English.
This is the way how you can check your bike’s smart card status. Isn’t that a very easy way? Yes, it is. With this digital process, it has not only been an easier process to register bikes or other vehicles right from home but also it saves time for the users. Moreover, it reduces the cost of the system. More crucially, it ensures better tracking and monitoring of registered vehicles. By the way, there might be some technical issues occasionally. It may cause a delay in the registration process. The other inconveniences may include the possibility of hacking and cyberattacks. Although the chances are pretty slight still one may face such issues. Whatever, we still think this digital process has made life easier for bikers.
