At the mid-season checkpoint in 2027, there will be a revision of the rankings. That will be completely dependent on the performance (results) of the first part of the 2027 season only. The results before the change of the regulations mean the 2026 campaign will not be counted. New joining manufacturers ranking will also have a revision at the midpoint in 2027.

Fuel Use

100% non-fossil origin fuel will be used from 2027 onwards. Previously it was a minimum of just 40%. More sustainable fuel will provide better mileage as we’ve mentioned earlier.

Class Engine Displacement

Yes, MotoGP is going to 850cc. The authority reduces the class engine displacement from 1000cc to 850cc. Why? One of the reasons is to decrease the top speeds of the bikes. Number of Engines Available

If the season features no more than 20 races, each permanently contracted rider can use six engines per season. So, there will be a decrease in the no. of engines available. However, for 21 or 22-race calendars, the number will be 7. By the way, constructors who will be in Rank D will have the privilege of using 2 extra engines per rider per campaign.

No Ride Height Devices

Authority won’t grant any ride height devices. Hence, there will be no activated holeshot devices as well. It actually makes the sport safer. And the riders will rely more on their personal skills to overtake.

Availability of GPS Data

All teams will have all riders’ GPS data at the end of every session.

Reduced Gearbox Ratios

The overall number of gearbox ratios (pairs of gears) granted will be decreased to 16 for the Premium MotoGP class. Moreover, for each campaign, there will be 4 more different overall ratios for the primary drive.

Same fate for the highest rear-end height. The new maximum rear end height will be 1150mm as opposed to the previous 1250mm. Also, the nose must be moved back by 50mm.
