Apache RTR 200 4V Feature Review
TVS is one of the leading Indian origin motorcycle brand for a long time. They are mainly popular for their commuter segment bikes. But now they started to produce sports and higher segment two wheeler. They also manufacture their bikes in many countries. Apache is the most popular bike series from this brand. They have 150, 160, 180 and 200 cc segments Apache motorcycles. But recently they launched its 200 cc segments Apache motorcycle which is known as RTR 200 4V.
Though this Apache version gets the inspiration from RTR 180 but it also customized with some changes. This bike launched in the market with the tag line of “Every Day is Race Day”. The aggressive street fighter design gets the inspiration from Draken concept. TVS upgraded its braking system with Double channel ABS system. This bike is available in the market with two variant, Carburetor and Fuel Injection. However, RTR 200 4V has to compete with its rival Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM 200 Duke, KTM 200 RC.
Design & looks: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V took the inspiration from its younger sibling RTR 180. The overall design is comes from Draken concept. The raised tail section, fuel tank extensions and edgy front end give the motorcycle aggressive look of a real street fighter. The muscular sculpted fuel tank carries the Apache logo. The overall paint scheme is stunning. The side body frame and engine cowl design looks solid and strong. Well padded split seats and clip-on handle bar makes it more sporty. Draken inspired 10 spoke alloy wheels and fuel tank extension cowl looks perfect with its design. This bike also got changes in its fuel filler cap. It is located slightly right side of the fuel tank rather than middle. The double barrel sporty exhaust customized with carbon fiber muffler.
Engine performance: The all new Apache RTR 200 4V built with racing concept. It gets one of the quick acceleration rate in its segment. The engine comes with two variant, Carburetor and fuel injection. The carburetor system is powered by 4- stroke, single cylinder, SI, Oil Cooled, 197.75 cc displacement engine which can generates 20.2 bhp maximum power at 8500 rpm. The fuel injection engine is capable to produce 0.5 bhp more power than carburetor engine. it also churns out 18.1 Nm torque at 7000 rpm which is same for both engine system. 5 speed constant mesh gearbox is paired with the engine. A-RT (Anti Reverse Torque) Slipper Clutch system will help to get smooth and easy gear shifting. The carburetor engine can reach the top speed of 128 km/h and the fuel injection engine can 129 km/h.
Dimensions & seating position: The overall dimension and seating position remain same as RTR 180. But this version upgraded with premium dust resist split seats. The raised pillion, tail section and lower position clip-on handlebar increased it sporty look. The seats are well padded seats will provide comfort and ergonomic seating position. This bike gets the height of 1105 mm, width 790 mm, length 2050 mm, standard ground clearance of 180 mm and the seating height is 800 mm. This time TVS used Pirelli tyres in their bike. 90/90-17 and 130/70 -17 section tubeless tyres used in this two wheeler.
Suspension & Brakes: TVS made some changes in their suspension unit. The new version of this bike gets Telescopic Forks suspension in front wheel and race-tuned kyb Mono Tube – Mono-shock suspension is for rear one. This suspensions can provide comfort and better controlling even in off road. Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff Frame chassis is used as its backbone. This lightweight chassis is perfect for racing and balance. This bike is also comes with standard double channel ABS system. The braking section guarded with 270 mm petal disc brake in front wheel and 240 mm petal disc brake in rear wheel.
Mileage: The fuel injection engine can give better mileage than carburetor system. This BS IV compliant engine can deliver average 35 km/l. But in highway it can give 42 km/h and 30 km/l in off road.
Instrument Panel & Features: This motorcycle featured with fully digital pentagonal-shaped instrumental panel. It rationalize with speedometer, tachometer, odometer, fuel gauge, clock along with dual trip meter. Below the screen, ABS light, low fuel warning, high beam indicator, turn indicators and the neutral light shows.
Colors: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V comes with 7 new color variant and attractive shades. Those are Gloss Black, Matte Black, Gloss White, Matte White, Matte Yellow, Matte Red and Matte Grey.
