150 and 160cc, these are the most competitive two-wheeler segments in Bangladesh. In this two segment, you can get full-faired, naked sports and also standard commuter motorcycles. Because of the engine displacement limitation in our country, all the available motorcycle brands trying to grab their position in this two segment.

The Japanese brand Yamaha doing a great business with their naked street bike FZs V2. Though a new edition of this bike launched in the market but this bike also have a huge demand for the naked sports lovers because of its look, color finishing, control and excellent braking system. On the other hand the Chinese brand Haojue launched their most awaited bike DR 160 in the end of the last year. Pleased to be informed that Haojue is the leading motorcycle manufacturer for many years. They also take R&D and technology from Suzuki. The price range of these bikes are almost the same. So let’s take a look at the compare and contrast between these two bikes.

It’s a little bit hard to compare between two different segments motorcycle. But 150cc and 160cc motorcycles have not much changes in engine performance.

Design and Looks:

Haojue DR 160 gets an eye-catchy and cutting edged design. Haojue spend a lots of time to make this motorcycle look stunning. If you take a deep look at its build quality, then you will noticed that the side panels, fuel tank and extension kits are build with excellent quality plastics. Split seat, engine cowl, aluminum cast alloy wheels and aggressive headlight give this bike a sporty look. On the other hand, FZs V2 was the best selling motorcycle of Yamaha before FZs V3. This bike has a large sculpted fuel tank with small front air scoop, large split seat, stylish exhaust with carbon finishing. The headlight unit equipped with a halogen bulb with LED DRLs.

Engine Performance:

In this term, Haojue DR 160 would definitely ahead because of its higher engine displacement. Haojue DR 160 gets a Air-cooled, SOHC, two-valve, single-cylinder, four-stroke, 162cc engine that can churn out 15 bhp maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. During test ride, we see that, DR 160 has a smooth throttle response and the top speed we got was 126 km/h. Because of the fuel injection system, this bike can provide up to 42 km/l average mileage. FZs V2 is the successful product of Yamaha in Bangladesh. This bike equipped with a Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, 149cc engine that can produce 12.9 bhp maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. We often see the top speed issue of this bike. We never heard the claim of top speed over 120 km/h of this bike. But the mid-range power delivery of this bike is amazing.

Braking & Controlling:

Yamaha never compromise with their bikes braking system. Though this bike doesn’t have any CBS/ABS braking system on it, but the braking feedback of this bike is excellent. This bike gets a 267 mm disc in front and 220 mm disc in the rear wheel. The handlebar of this bike is also up-raised and the split seat is also comfortable for the pillion and rider both. On the other side, Haojue DR 160 has CBS braking system on it. The front and rear wheel equipped with 280 mm and 240 mm disc brakes. Haojue used USD suspension to give this bike a premium touch. It gets 100/80-17 section in the front and 130/70-17 section tubeless tyre in the rear wheel. Where FZs V2 has 140/60-17 section wider flat tyre in the rear wheel.
