KTM Duke 125 Vs Kawasaki Z 125: Comparison review

In Bangladesh, the demand for commuter motorcycles is higher than a sports bike. Mainly, the 100, 110 and 125cc segments’ appetite is too high. But from a few years, 125cc sports bikes have started to launch in Bangladesh. Though their market price is too high but their build quality and engine performance are just like a 150cc sports bike. In the present time, bikers are getting interested in the 125cc sports bike.

In the 125cc sports segment, KTM Duke 125 and Kawasaki Z 125 are the two popular bikes. These bikes are the naked versions of KTM RC 125 and Kawasaki Ninja 125. As mentioned, there will be no questions about their build quality and engine performance. Between these two motorcycles, there are some similarities and differences. In some points, Kawasaki will be ahead and at some point, KTM Duke will be ahead. So let’s find out which one is more performance oriented.

KTM Duke 125 Kawasaki Z125

 

These two bikes are the naked version of KTM RC and Kawasaki Ninja 125. So their some body parts and features are just like their full-faired version. KTM Dukes instrument panel, exhaust, color shades, and handlebar set is just like KTM RC. So as Kawasaki Z125.

In design, both bikes look stylish and eye-catchy. But Kawasaki Z125 looks slightly more attractive for its headlamp unit and paint scheme. Not only that, Z125 gets split seats that make it more sporty. KTM Duke equipped with underbelly exhaust and Z125 has regular sporty exhaust with chromium finished. KTM Duke contains 10.2 L and Z125 can 11 L of fuel.

Sports bikes are meant to be performance oriented. Though this naked sports bike’s top speed is lower than their full-faired versions, but their engine displacement and engine’s power is the same. Kawasaki Z125 can burn out 15 bhp maximum power at 10,000 rpm and can reach the top speed of 123 km/h. Where Duke can 14.5 bhp maximum power at 9500 rpm and the top speed of this bike is 125 km/h. Both bikes are equipped with an EFI engine and liquid-cooled system.

Both bikes didn’t compromise with their braking system. Both are stocked with a dual-channel ABS braking system. Apart from that, Duke uses a 300 mm disc brake in front and a 230 mm disc brake in the rear wheel. And Z 125 uses 290 mm in front and 220 mm disc brake in the rear. Both bikes have telescopic fork suspension in the front and mono-shock suspension in the rear wheel. These suspensions are perfect for road conditions like our country. In tyre size, Duke gets 110/70-17 section tyre in front and 150/60-17 section tyre in the rear wheel and Z 125 gets 100/80-17 in front and 130/70-17 section tyre in the rear wheel. In this part, Duke 125 is ahead of Z125.

The price of these motorcycles is too high. Recently, Dukes Indian version is started to import in Bangladesh. That’s why its price is a little endurable than the Euro version. On the other hand, Only Euro version of Z125 is available in Bangladesh and it costs 419,000 BDT.
