Taro GP1 V3 Review
Taro is an Italian motorcycle brand but they manufacture their motorcycles in China. Basically they produce full-faired and naked sports bikes. Taro Bangla is their sole distributor in Bangladesh. When they first launched Taro GP1 in Bangladesh, they have got a huge response from the bikers because of the bikes design and look. There is always a craze for full-faired sports bike in Bangladesh. In this term, Taro gives stunning looking full-faired sports bikes at a low price. Not only just look, Taro also gain trust for their engine performance also.
After all the success of Taro GP1 and Taro GP v2, Taro Bangla recently launched Taro GP1 V3. Engine capacity, basic design are remain the same like previous versions. There also some changes in this new version. So, let’s take a look at this bike’s overview.
Design & looks: The design and color scheme are totally different from the previous editions. At the first look, it must be admitted that the production company Zhejiang Chuangtai Vehicle Industry Co. Ltd did a great job with its design. It looks haunted and intimidating, especially the front, which design is inspired from the famous Aprilia RSV4. It’s headlight is equipped with Dual-projection LED light with an LED DRL which is reassemble with an eyebrow that makes this bike look super aggressive. Not only the headlight, but the tail and side indicator lights are also LED. The fairing and side panels are also newly designed. In the addition of trellis frame is also enhance its out look. The rear side is also looks sharp and edgy. TARO logo is also mounted over the muscular fuel tank and fairing.
Engine performance: The engine is also different than the previous edition. The first edition was able to produce 16 bhp maximum power and 14.5 Nm of maximum torque. But now the new version has a 4-stroke, Single cylinder, Liquid-cooled, 155.2cc engine and can churn out 19 bhp maximum power at 9500 rpm and 16.5 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. That shows a big different in their engine power. For that, the engine performance and the top speed will also increase. For the smooth transmission Taro installed 6-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch.
Dimensions & seating position: This motorcycle is dimensionally standard as a full-faired sports bike. But the overall dimension is slightly bigger than the previous version. The length of this machine is 2050 mm, width 720 mm, height 1155 mm, seat height 800 mm and the standard ground clearance is 180 mm. But the seat height of 800 mm might be an issue for the under 5’7″ riders. The three step clip-on handlebar will provide a sporty feel to ride. But the handlebar is up-raised and it would be comfortable for long ride. The split seats are wide enough and also well-cushioned.
Suspension & Brakes: Telescopic fork suspension installed in the front and swingarm mono-shock suspension for the rear wheel. But for a sports bike like this, the front suspension could be a USD. The trellis frame looks good with its design and also give it a great stability. In front, Taro uses 300mm dual disc and in the rear 240 mm disc brake. We often see a front dual-disc brake bike in Bangladesh. These disc brakes also enhance the out look of this bike. The 110/70-17 and 150/70-17 section tyres are the same as the previous version.
Mileage: This version is only available in fuel injection fuel supply. So it would definitely provide better mileage than a carburetor system. It will give around 38 km/L average mileage. It will also provide 42 km/l in highway and 35 km/l in cities. That is more than enough for a sports bike.
Instrument Panel & Features: Taro installed a TFT advance dashboard on this machine. This instrument cluster is much brighter and clear. It also has two theme for this dashboard. The odometer, trip meter, tachometer, fuel gauge, gear indicator features are all available in this bike.
Colors & Price: This bike is available with three different color shade in other countries. But in Bangladesh, only dark black color is available. The market price of this bike is 356,000/- BDT.
