The most important thing about riding a motorcycle at night is to light the road properly. Suppose, you have strong eyesight, then the bike lights will do the rest. Most modern touring motorbikes have a strong light setup installed on the bike. These bikes have a very powerful headlight and thus the rider can get a very good view of the road.

But if we consider the sports bikes or low configuration bike which runs on the roads, then we must say that these bikes are not truly perfect for riding at night. There is another important thing. Which is to make yourself visible to other drivers. You have to take care of this thing so that other drivers can see you and don’t hit you. Due to this LED light, auxiliary light, neon stick, etc are used in motorbikes. This is the best way is to make yourself directly visible to others.

Don’t wear a dark-colored dress at night and it may create problems. It will be best if you can use auxiliary lights. Because it can be detected and seen very easily and from a great distance. If you want that at a low cost then you can use some light reflective tapes in your jacket.

There is a specific color code for these tapes to use on motorbikes. Such as using red in the rear, white in front, and amber insides. Don’t mix them up while using. Because that would create confusion.

Make your vision clear:

After checking your bike’s ability and others’ ability to see ahead, now it’s your turn to keep your vision clear. First of all, check your helmet visor and make sure it’s clear. If your visor is not clear or scratched, then it might reflect the light from your opposite site and it will decrease your vision. To avoid this problem, you could use a Fogg or anti-scratch visor. Now let’s discuss the final preparation. You should prepare for your ride as carefully as you ride in daylight. You have to wear a good helmet, the frontal glass of which should be very clear. You can keep a clean rag to clean the glass of the helmet. You may use microfiber cloths. Or you may use fresh water. Even after doing all these things you might not watch certain things on road. Which might be a hole, speed breaker, animals, etc. You should watch for these things carefully.

Ride Slow and Steady:

Riding a motorcycle at night is not as easy as it looks. When we ride in the daylight, we can easily be noticed by other riders or vehicles. But when we ride at night, it’s pretty hard to get noticed. Use all of your motorcycle’s lights, including blinkers and pass flasher, and even your motorcycle’s horn to make the other riders sense your presence. Always make sure that you have enough space on the road to maneuver. Because on the highway, the vehicles move fast and it can hardly be noticed at the night. So, this extra space will help you to move your motorcycle from other vehicles when they head towards you.

Control Your Speed and Take Rest:

When we ride a motorcycle, it always pumps our adrenalin. When we see an empty road, we always try to accelerate our engine. But at night, we must avoid this habit and ride safely. You wouldn’t know what’s the road condition in front of you at night. Nowadays, bikers are getting interested in long tours and night is the right time for it. During a long ride, always take enough rest and drink enough water.

Always remember that some drivers always drive recklessly in even daylight, which can be dangerous for you at night. So, at night you should drive carefully if you want to be safe. And if you get tired, you should not take risks by continuing the ride, rather take some rest. Because it will be risky to ride when you are tired.

Overall, we can say that, if you are fit both mentally and physically and can follow the above-stated things properly then you will get a hell of a lot of fun riding at night.
