During the Covid-19 situation, the motorcycle market faced a huge loss. Many companies couldn’t import their products from other countries. But the situation has changed now. Motorcycles are becoming a trustable and easy transport in our day to day life. Along with the Indian and Japanese brands, many Chinese brands are getting interested to launch their products in Bangladesh.

Zontes is new to Bangladesh as a motorcycle brand and introduced three new products. This Chinese brand established in 2003 and doing business since then. Apart from the Asia region, they also expand their business in Europe and America. This time Zontes comes to Bangladesh for the first time with the collaboration with Rasel Industries.

Design and Looks: This off-road motorcycle exactly looks the same as Zontes ZT155 U. The only changes of this motorcycle is the addition of a crash guard, spoke wheels, dual-purpose tyre pattern and the high neck front fender. This motorcycle has split seats that we hardly can see in an off-road motorcycle. Though it’s an off-road motorcycle, but it more looks like a naked sports motorcycle. The headlight of this motorcycle looks totally different from the other motorcycle in Bangladesh and reminds you of the Transformer movie. It also gets a crush guard to protect your motorcycle from any light accident.

Engine Performance: Zontes introduced three different motorcycles in Bangladesh but the engine capacity remains the same for all three models. This motorcycle equipped with a Single-cylinder, Liquid-cooled, fuel injection, SOHC, 4-Stroke, 149.8cc engine that can burn out 18.8 bhp maximum power at 8500 rpm and 16 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. Off-road motorcycles need enough power to maneuver on any road condition and Zontes ZT155-U1 has all in it. With this engine power output, you can easily ride through the highway and also on the hill roads. There is also a crush guard to protect the engine and rider’s knee. For better transmission, they installed a 6-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch. The top speed of this motorcycle would be around 120 km/h.

Dimension and seating position: Dimension plays a vital role in better balance and control. This motorcycle only weighs 128 kg which is very important for an off-road motorcycle. The overall length of this bike is 2005 mm, width 865 mm, height 1120 mm and the overall wheelbase size is 1370 mm. It also has a standard ground clearance of 160 mm. Zontes uses a single-piece handlebar to easily maneuver this motorcycle. They also added a split seat which is rear for an off-road motorcycle.

Suspension and Brake: Suspension performance is essential for an off-road motorcycle. It absorbs the pressure and helps to get the proper balance. But Zontes installed a USD fork suspension in the front wheel. Though it looks premium but it won’t perform properly in the rough road condition. The most advanced feature of this motorcycle is its dual-channel Bosch ABS braking system. We can only see a few numbers of bikes with a dual-channel ABS. This is an important feature for a motorcycle nowadays. It gets 110/70-17 section tyre in the front wheel and 130/70-17 section tyre in the rear wheel. Though Zontes uses spoke wheels, but these tyres are tubeless.

Mileage: Mileage is an important issue for any motorcycle. While this motorcycle gets a fuel injection system, the mileage would be good. We hoping that this off-road motorcycle can provide up to 35-38 km/l average mileage.
