Yamaha is one of the leading and largest motorcycle brands in the world. They are famous for their high segments motorcycles. They have launched different segments of bikes in different countries. But due to the cc limitation of Bangladesh, they had only launched 125 cc and 150 cc segments motorcycles. ACI Motors LTD is the sole distributor of Yamaha in Bangladesh. But now they are trying to assemble and manufacture bike parts in Bangladesh.

Yamaha MT 15 looks smaller in dimension but its heart is full of power. Its engine and body parts are similar to the famous Yamaha R15 but differently tuned. This naked streetfighter gets some attractive look and a new paint scheme. The front end looks aggressive and the rear end looks sportier. However, it can be called a pocket dynamite. Let’s see the feature review of this motorcycle.

Design & looks: Yamaha MT 15 is pretty much similar to the Yamaha R15 but Yamaha assembles its body parts in different approaches. It’s a little bit shorter than the Yamaha R15. MT 15 gets a sporty streetfighter design and look with a compact headlamp unit. The headlamp looks always angry and aggressive whenever you see it. The high-rise muscular fuel tank is surrounded with tank shrouds and radiator fins which makes it look bulky. Stubby tail and split seat enhance its sporty look. the well-made exhaust is covered with carbon fiber muffler which looks stunning. The neatly designed rear grab rail is perfectly fitted with the pillion sitting position. The instrumental panel is fully digital and it’s easy to read and also has decent visibility.

Engine performance: The engine is also borrowed from Yamaha R15 but differently tuned. MT 15 gets the bigger sprocket than R15 and can give a quicker response at lower rpm. This Blue-core engine comes with Liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve, 155 cc displacement engine which can easily churn out 19.30 Bhp maximum power at 10000 rpm and 14.7 Nm peak torque at 8500 rpm. The 6-speed constant mass gearbox is mated with the engine for better transmission. Slipper clutch will smooth, light and easy the gear shifting.

Dimensions & seating position: The rider seating position is comfortable but the pillion seat is a little bit smaller. The handlebar is up-rise than R15 and it will provide comfort in a long ride. The dimension of this motorcycle is lower than regular bikes. But it gets the standard height of 1070 mm, the width of 800 mm and the length is 2020 mm. Ground clearance and seat height are also important for a sports bike and it has 155 mm and 810 mm respectively. Aluminum cast alloy wheels are used on this two-wheeler where wheelbase size is 1335 mm. 100/80-17 and 140/70-17 section tyres are used in front and rear wheel. It will provide a better grip and control.

Suspension & Brakes: Telescopic fork suspension is used for the front end and Swingarm suspension for the rear. With a slim, compact delta box frame, sporty suspension and lightweight 17″ wheels offer the new riders to become familiar with a sports bike. It will provide a good balance and comfort. Yamaha never compromised with its braking system. The braking section is guarded with a 282mm Single Disc brake in front and 220mm Single Disc brake in the rear.

Mileage: We can’t expect efficient mileage on a sports bike. But this MT 15 gets Electric Fuel Injection system and can give 42 km/l in average mileage. But in highway and cities, this motorcycle can provide 45 km/l and 35 km/l respectively.

Instrument Panel & Features: The instrument panel of Yamaha MT 15 is completely rationalized with digital meters along with digital tachometer, trip meter, odometer, low fuel warning. The headlamp looks attractive and aggressive.

Colors & Price: The market price of Yamaha MT 15 version 1 is BDT 445,000 and MT 15 version 2 price is 525,000/- according to the latest update. It has three colors available which are Dark Matte Blue, Metallic Black, and White-orange.
