Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 is the latest version of Fazer which is available in Bangladesh since couple of months. And Taro GP 1 is yet to launch in Bangladesh but soon it will available. Here we come to compare things between this two bikes. Yamaha Fazer FI is a Japanese origin and Indian assembled bike which is a standard commuter where GP 1 is a Italian origin and Chinese assembled full faired sports bike. The products between Japan and Italy we must say that Indian and Chinese assembled quality is almost same. But considering the attractive features and good looks, Taro GP 1 is few steps ahead of Yamaha Fazer FI. Let’s see the differences between this two bikes below.

# Looks: If we consider the looks of Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 we can see that it is not full faired bike. It is a semi faired standard motorcycle where Taro GP 1 is a full faired sports motorcycle. So, both bikes are completely different. Fazer has completely wide front end with two part headlamp. Though who needs comfortable ride with semi faired looks can go for Fazer. But sports bike lover would like GP 1 must. It has muscular body design with sporty dimension. Besides, it’s looks is so sharp where Fazer has no sharp looks but standard design. Due to wide tyres, both bikes are very attractive from the rear side.
# Engine Performance: Fazer V2.0 is a standard touring bike with very reliable engine. It has air cooled with 149 cc engine displacement. The max power of Fazer is 12.9 Bhp in 8000 rpm. On the other side, Taro GP 1 consists of 149.9 cc engine that can create 16 Bhp max power in 8500 rpm. Like other sports bike, it has water cooled engine. Besides, Fazer has both electric and kick starting system but GP 1 has only self starter. If we come to consider the reliability of the engines, due to Japanese brand Fazer is much more reliable engine than GP 1. GP 1 is used Lifan engine which is also custom made.
# Suspension & Brake: Unlike the same segmented other bike, Yamaha did not use any dual hydraulic disc brake. They only use 267 mm front disc and rear drum brake. Besides, it has front telescopic suspension and mono suspension is rear. On the other side, Taro GP 1 is used both dual hydraulic disc brakes used on both side. Front disc is pretty bigger than rear disc. It has also updated suspensions installed into the bike. Dual hydraulic disc must provide greater safety to the riders but combination of disc and drum brake is also very good. Most importantly no ABS technology added to the both bikes.
# Comfort & Control: Fazer is one of the top rated touring bike in Bangladesh and most popular in the segment. It is also heavy comfortable indeed. In the newer version of the bike Fazer, there is splitted seat attached which makes it more attractive. And also the controlling of the bike is very satisfying. Those who rides Fazer has heavy satisfied with it’s control. However, Taro GP 1 is a new come of bike in Bangladesh. So, before use we can not say much about the bike. But hopefully as sports bike, it would be comfortable but can not beat Fazer considering the comfort. But it would be much more secured due to two disc brakes as well.
# Fuel Consumption: Fazer V2.0 is BS4 technology approved. So, it’s mileage is increased than the previous version of the bike. It’s reported mileage would be more than 43 km. Considering the mileage Fazer is better than Taro GP 1. Before using the Chinese assembled bike, we yet to prove the mileage. But, reported mileage of the bike GP 1 is almost 35 km or somewhat like that.
# Top Speed: Now, we come to consider the top speed between Fazer and Taro GP 1. Fazer is no good for speed. It can make almost 115 kmph speed reportedly. It is best for tour not for speed. On the other side, as sports bike Taro GP 1 is fully matured with speed. Reportedly the bike can cross 140 kmph top speed.
# Price: Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 has pretty handsome price tag added. Reported price of the bike is BDT 2,75,000 only. On the other side, as sports segmented bike Taro GP 1 has little high price tag added. Though, it is still questionable that as Chinese bike, why it’s price is BDT 299,000. It should reduce somewhat.
Finally, here we are at the end. Fazer and GP 1 are fully different bikes. One of them are for tour loving as well as very comfortable and during long ride, Fazer would give confidence. On the other side, sports loving people would love Taro GP 1 if they do not have allergy with Chinese bikes. But it needs to mention that Taro GP 1 is fully different bike than available Chinese bikes and so, it would become popular as well.
